Gophers fans will have a chance to see for themselves how the football team looks early in training camp. New coach Jerry Kill will open the team's first 10 practices and a mid-camp scrimmage to the public, he announced Thursday, beginning Aug. 8.
The Gophers will hold 26 practices leading up to their Sept. 3 opener at Southern California, Kill's debut at Minnesota. From Aug. 8-12, practice will begin at 3:55 at the Gibson-Nagurski practice field, and fans will be allowed to attend. The two-a-day drills on Aug. 13 and 15 will also be open, beginning at 8:50 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. The Aug. 16 practice at TCF Bank Stadium, beginning at 9:50, is open, and a scrimmage in the stadium at 9:40 a.m. on Aug. 16 will also be staged in front of fans.
