Five players from the State of Hockey are on the under-17 U.S. select team that will play in the Five Nations tournament Aug. 9-13 in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Three of them are defensemen: Mike Brodzinski, Blaine (Ham Lake), Jordan Gross, Maple Grove and Willie Raskob, Shattuck-St. Mary's (Hastings).

The other two are forwards: Dan Labosky, Benilde-St. Margaret's (Edina) and Vinni Lettieri, Minnetonka (Excelsior).

They were picked from a development camp held in Rochester, N.Y., last week. Minnesota with five is the state with the most players on the 22-player roster. California has four.

Other teams in the tournament are the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland.
