The three Reilly brothers, who all played for Holy Angels at one time, will be reunited this coming hockey season . All three have committed to playing for the Penticton (British Columbia) Vees, according to a news release issued Thursday by the team.

Twins Connor and Ryan, both forwards, played with Sioux Falls of the USHL this season. They signed with the Gophers last fall with the understanding they probably would not join the team until the 2012-13 season.

Mike, a defenseman, played for Shattuck-St. Mary's this past season as a high school junior. He has committed to the Gophers but is not old enough to sign. He is one of the 102 top prospects invited to the NHL combine in Toronto from May 30 to June 4. There they will be evaluated one last time before the league's draft on June 24-25 at the Xcel Energy Center.

"It's not everyday that you have the opportunity to add three quality players such as Connor, Ryan, and Mikey." Vees coach and general manager Fred Harbinson. "I am very excited that I will be able to help develop these three brothers for the University of Minnesota." The twins turn 20 on Oct. 1. Mike will be 18 on July 13. He, too, might join the Gophers in 2012-13 with his brothers, especially if he can get bigger. Connor finished third in team scoring with Sioux Falls this past season. He had 18 goals and 29 assists in 70 games, counting playoffs, for the Stampede, while Ryan had five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 44 games. Connor is 5-11, 160, Ryan 5-7, 146. The Gophers are hoping both get a little bigger before they play college hockey. Mike, 5-10, 150, had nearly a point per game for Shattuck-St. Mary's. He had 14 goals and 34 assists for 48 points in 54 games, and is rated 52nd among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. The Sabres were 45-6-3 this season and beat the Mid Fairfield Blues 3-1 on April 3 to win the the 18-and-under USA Hockey Tier I national championship in Simsbury, Conn. Most of the Vees' players are Canadians, but not all. Joey Benik, the BCHL's leading rookie goal scorer last season is from Minnesota. Benik, a St. Cloud State recruit, played high school hockey at St. Francis two seasons ago. Benik had 30 goals and 26 assists for 56 points for the Vees, who finished second in the Interior Conference standings. In the conference playoffs, the Vees, 38-17-3-2 in the regular season, lost four games to one to Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the second round.
