Cincinnati remains unbeaten

Cincinnati remains unbeaten

• NO. 5 CINCINNATI 49, ILLINOIS 36: Tony Pike answered all the questions six times over. The senior QB returned from an injury to his nonthrowing arm and had a record day Friday, passing for six touchdowns to lead Cincinnati past Illinois.

"Words can't describe how amazing this feels," Pike said.

Cincinnati (11-0) remained one of six unbeaten Bowl Subdivision teams, ranked fifth in the BCS. The Bearcats finish their regular season next weekend by playing for their second consecutive Big East championship, traveling to No. 8 Pittsburgh, which lost its first conference game Friday.

"If we take care of business, the rest is up to the voters and the computers and whatever else is out there, to figure out what we do with the postseason," said said senior Mardy Gilyard, who caught two touchdown passes and ran back a kickoff for a score.

• WEST VIRGINIA 19, No. 8 PITTSBURGH 16: Noel Devine rushed for 134 yards and Tyler Bitancurt kicked four field goals, including a 43-yarder as time expired, to lift West Virginia (8-3, 4-2 Big East) past Pittsburgh (9-2, 5-1). West Virginia got a small measure of revenge for the last Backyard Brawl played in Morgantown. In 2007, West Virginia was a victory away from playing for the national title when a sub-.500 Pitt team upset Pat White and Co.

NEBRASKA 28, COLORADO 20: Niles Paul's 59-yard punt return for a TD and Matt O'Hanlon's 30-yard interception return for a score were enough for the Cornhuskers (9-3, 6-2) to hold off Colorado (3-9, 2-6 Big 12) at Boulder, Colo. Up next for Nebraska is the Big 12 title game against No. 3 Texas.

RUTGERS 34, LOUISVILLE 14: Mohamed Sanu ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback Tom Savage threw for a score and ran for another to lead Rutgers (8-3, 3-3 Big East) past host Louisville (4-8, 1-6). Rutgers scored touchdowns on its first four possessions.

• WYOMING 17, COLORADO STATE 16: Ian Watts kicked a 33-yard field goal with 1:27 left as Wyoming (6-6, 4-4 Mountain West) became bowl-eligible with a victory over Colorado State (3-9, 0-8) at Fort Collins, Colo.

• TULSA 33, MEMPHIS 30 (OT): G.J. Kinne threw a game-tying, 2-yard touchdown pass and Kevin Fitzpatrick's fourth field goal was the game-winner in OT as Tulsa (5-7, 3-5 Conference USA) rallied past Memphis (2-10, 1-7) at Tulsa, Okla.
