LEXINGTON, Ky. - Honest Pursuit brought $3.1 million Wednesday to top the day's session of Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale.
The 4-year-old filly by Storm Cat out of multiple graded stakes winner Honest Lady, by Seattle Slew, was from the dispersal of the W.T. Young family's Overbrook Farm, Eaton Sales as agent. Broodmares from the dispersal accounted for the day's top five prices.
Honest Pursuit was purchased by the Wertheimer racing family.
Keeneland sold 169 horses during Wednesday's second session of the sale for $45,360,000, an increase of 7.98 percent from the corresponding session in 2008 when 150 horses brought $42,006,000. The average price of $268,402 was down 4.16 percent from last year's $280,040.
The first two days of the sale have grossed $71,651,500, a 20.41 percent decline from last year. The sale continues through Nov. 22.
