MIAC roundup: Johnnies win, clinch share of title

St. John's, ranked No. 4 in the NCAA Division III poll, clinched a share of the MIAC title with a 28-7 victory over Augsburg on Saturday at the Metrodome.

The Johnnies held the Auggies to zero yards rushing and only 100 yards in total offense as they improved to 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the MIAC.

Kellen Blaser scored two touchdowns for St. John's, which closes the regular season next Saturday against Carleton at home.

Tyler Judkins returned an interception 93 yards for the Auggies' touchdown.

In other MIAC games:

Concordia (Moorhead) 31, Carleton 16: Andrew Larson rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns to lead the visiting Cobbers to the victory.

St. Olaf 20, Gustavus 7: Leon Clark rushed for 201 yards and a touchdown to lead the Oles past the Gusties in St. Peter, Minn.

St. Thomas 19, Bethel 10: Dakota Tracy threw three touchdown passes as the visiting Tommies beat the Royals.

In a nonconference game:

Hamline 38, Macalester 6: Tim Queck caught five passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns to lead the visiting Pipers past the Scots. The Pipers gained 506 yards -- 343 in the first half.
