BRIDGEPORT, CONN. – Defenseman Jordan Gross' second goal of the game at 16 minutes, 24 seconds of overtime gave Notre Dame a 4-3 victory over Michigan Tech on Friday in the East Regional semifinals.

Gross, a senior from Maple Grove High School, put the Fighting Irish (26-9-2) ahead 3-2 at 6:19 of the third period on a power-play goal. The Huskies (22-17-5), who won the WCHA tournament, tied the score on Jake Jackson's goal with 1:06 left.

"We were fortunate to get the breakaway and [teammate] Cam Morrison had a good hustle to get the puck in the zone," Gross said, describing the sequence before his winning goal. "Their players also may have been tired from such a long O-zone shift but we took advantage."

Cale Morris had 36 saves for Notre Dame, the No. 2 overall seed. Patrick Munson, a junior who played at Centennial, had 28 stops for Michigan Tech.

"It's been like this all season long," coach Jeff Jackson of the Irish rally. "I tell them after games they have to quit doing this because I'm 62 and I don't know how much my heart can handle this, but they find a way to score that timely goal."

Providence 1, Clarkson 0: Kasper Bjorkqvist's goal in the first period and Hayden Hawkey's 18 saves led the Friars (24-11) over the Golden Knights (23-11).
