St. Thomas closed out the regular season with a 97-0 victory over St. Olaf in Northfield on Saturday.

The Tommies (9-1, 8-0 MIAC), ranked No. 4 in Division III, built a 64-0 halftime lead en route to their 10th consecutive victory over the Oles.

The Tommies defense, the top rushing defense in their division, limited the Oles (4-6, 3-5) to 9 yards rushing and 71 yards in total offense. The Tommies intercepted four passes while holding the Oles to five first downs.

Jacques Parra passed for 295 yards and three touchdowns for the Tommies and Josh Parks rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns.

Stephen Wagner also ran for three touchdowns.

The Tommies balanced offense had 667 yards — 341 rushing and 326 passing.

The Tommies will find out their Division III playoff opponent at 4 p.m. on Sunday when the 32-team playoff field will be announced on www.ncaa.com.

It was the second attention-grabbing rout of the season involving an MIAC team. St. John's opened its season with a 98-0 victory over St. Scholastica of Duluth, which went on to win its next seven games in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

Bethel 54, Hamline 14: Sam Gibas rushed for 124 yards and Riley McCann for 108 yards — and each scored a touchdown — as the Royals pulled away in the second half for the victory over the visiting Pipers.

Levi Duininck rushed for three TDs for the Royals and Jake Marsh ran for a TD and passed for a TD for the Royals, who led 20-7 at halftime.

The Royals (5-5, 4-4), who opened the season 0-3, closed the season with four victories in five games to avoid their first losing season since 1993.

It was the Royals' 21st consecutive victory over the Pipers.

Justice Spriggs passed for 246 yards and two TDs for the Pipers (2-8, 1-7).

Josiah Harris caught eight passes for 140 yards and both TDs for Hamline.

Gustavus 52, Carleton 0: Michael Veldman passed for 322 yards and four TDs to pace the Gusties to the victory over the visiting Knights.

Karim Ortiz rushed for 126 yards and two TDS for the Gusties (5-5, 4-4), who led 35-0 at halftime.

The Gusties broke the game open by scoring 28 points in a 6½-minute span late in the first quarter and early in the second.

Veldman threw TD passes of 83, 3 and 38 yards for three of the four touchdowns.

Josh Kirk caught three passes for 130 yards and a TD and ran for a TD for the Gusties.
