Woodrow Glazer, a sophomore from New Prague, had a perfect score of 100 to win the individual title Saturday at the Minnesota State High School League Clay Target State Tournament at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake. Glazer was 10th a year ago.

Five other competitors had scores of 99. After the reverse-run tiebreaking criteria were applied, Alexandria sophomore Jeremy Knight finished second with a score of 99 and a reverse-run of 98. St. Michael-Albertville teammates Lane Berning and Cody Schoen were third and fourth, respectively.

St. Michael-Albertville won the team title with a total of 480. Berning had perfect scores of 50 in both of his team shooting sessions. Schoen (97) was next for the Knights, followed by Josh Tutland (95) and Kyle Dupont and William Rahne (both 94).

Hibbing (474) finished in second place out of the 40 teams who qualified for the state tournament. Blaine was third (470).

Millar goes deep

Former major league player Kevin Millar returned to St. Paul on Saturday night for Millar-Bill Murray Bobblehead Night at the St. Paul Saints' game.

And the Saints, being the innovators they are, also let Millar, now 45, take batting practice and be their DH for one at-bat against the Winnepeg Goldeyes. Millar, who last played in 2010, hit a two-run homer.

The Saints ultimately beat the Goldeyes 8-6 at CHS Field led by Tanner Vavra's homer and four RBI.
