Second-ranked St. Thomas rolled to a sixth consecutive MIAC women's basketball championship with a 66-49 victory over Gustavus Adolphus in the conference tournament championship game Sunday in St. Paul.

The victory gave the Tommies (27-0) the league's automatic bid to the Division III national tournament.

St. Thomas center Kaitlin Langer, the league's player of the year, scored 29 points, grabbed nine boards and blocked three shots while shooting 10-for-12 from the floor and 9-for-12 on free throws. Lucia Renikoff added 13 points and three steals for the Tommies, who shot 50 percent.

Miranda Rice led a balanced effort for the Gusties (25-2) with 11 points, and Hannah Howard, Mikayla Miller and Justine Lee each added nine. Both of Gustavus' losses came against St. Thomas.

NSIC men

Southwest Minnesota State 79, Sioux Falls 68: Ryan Bruggeman scored a career-high 34 points — becoming the first Southwest Minnesota State player to score 30 points in a game since 2004 — in a quarterfinal victory. Bruggeman hit 10 of 15 shots and 13 of 14 free throws, while also recording six rebounds and four assists. The Mustangs shot 51 percent and made 21 of 28 free throws. Sioux Falls got four three-pointers and 19 points from Drew Goubert.

Augustana 88, Northern State 64: Jordan Spencer scored a game-high 23 points, topping 20 points for the ninth time this season in the Vikings' quarterfinal victory. Logan Doyle led the Wolves with 15 points and nine rebounds. Augustana and Southwest Minnesota State will meet in Monday's semifinals.

Upper Iowa 81, St. Cloud State 61: The Peacocks rode 61.7 percent shooting, including 54.5 percent from outside the arc, to victory over the Huskies in a quarterfinal game. Jordan Hay led Upper Iowa with 20 points. Jimmy Roth scored 18 points and Carson Parker 16 for the Peacocks. Jon Averkamp led St. Cloud State with 25 points. He was one of four Huskies players in double figures.

MSU Mankato 73, Concordia (St. Paul) 51: The Mavericks, leading by a point at halftime against the 6-25 Golden Bears, rode a 47-point second half to victory and a spot in the semifinal against Upper Iowa. Senior Aarias Austin led Mankato with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Diallo Powell led Concordia with 16 points.
