A week after trumpeting the debut of football at Target Field, the Twins announced they are opening their doors for The Herd.
The North Dakota State Bison — and their wild fans — will circle Aug. 31, 2019 on their calendars: It's NDSU vs. Butler in the first Division I football game at Target Field.
It will be the first meeting between the two schools and will be the season opener for both teams.
The Bison have won the past five Football Championship Series titles, and 13 titles overall.
St. Thomas and St. John's will break in the ballpark for football next fall, with their Sept. 23 Division III rivalry game.
The Twins website says ticket information will be released at a later date.
