Peter Haugen, football coach at Minneapolis Washburn High School for the past 15 years, was named football coach at Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday.
Haugen, who coached the Millers to a 111-44 overall record and 11 Minneapolis City Conference titles, succeeds Jay Schoenebeck.
Schoenebeck stepped down after 15 seasons as the Gusties coach to pursue other interests and spend more time with his family.
Etc.• The WCHA named Gophers senior Gigi Marvin its women's hockey offensive player of the week and freshman Monique Lamoureux its co-rookie of the week.
Marvin scored four goals in the Gophers' road sweep of North Dakota last weekend; Lamoureux had three goals and two assists.
• Three Gophers volleyball players received all-region honors: junior libero Christine Tan, sophomore outside hitter Brook Dieter and sophomore middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer.
