Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano will finally be in the same Twins lineup.

The Twins called up Buxton from Class AAA Rochester on Wednesday when they had to put Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list because of a left hamstring strain.

Buxton himself was recently on the disabled list with a sprained left thumb but has recovered and has been on a tear at Rochester. In 13 games at Rochester, Buxton batted 400 with three doubles, one triple, one home run, eight RBI and 11 runs scored.

The Twins will have both of their blue chip prospects in the lineup for the first time. Buxton injured his thumb on June 25 and Sano was called up on July 2. So their paths never crossed - until now.

Hicks was trying to beat out an infield hit when he grabbed his hamstring and walked slowly off the field the Twins went on to lose 4-3 to the Yankees and were swept in the three-game series.

Some more injury updates

Ricky Nolasco, who has been out since early June with an impingement in his right ankle. Will actually start playing catch on Monday. It was believed that Nolasco's season was over because he would not have enough time to get his arm ready to pitch. Apparently, he has good range of motion in the ankle following surgery and is going to attempt to do some baseball activities.

Blaine Boyer (elbow) feels good and will go through long toss drills on Thursday.

Phil Hughes (back) is moving around better and went through a pool workout on Wednesday

From this morning:

I was up into the early morning Wednesday, trying to figure out how the Twins got this far with the bullpen they constructed. Then I started looking up Yankee grand slams against the Twins. I came up with four since 1998 - which I think is a heck of a lot from one team. If I'm missing any, let me know. UPDATED

Aug. 13, 1999: Chuck Knoblauch hits a grand slam off Benj Sampson as the Yankees rolled to a 14-2 win,

Aug. 20, 1999: This was not one of Brad Radke's best days. Radke gave up two singles to start the game, but was helped out by a double play. But then he gave up a RBI single to Bernie Williams then walked Tino Martinez and Chili Davis. Ricky Ledee, of all people, follows with a grand slam.

July 28, 2000: The Twins led 5-4 in the ninth inning. Travis Miller opened the ninth with the assignment to get Paul O'Neill out. He singled. LaTroy Hawkins replaced Miller and got Bernie Williams to fly out. Eddie Guardao repalced Hawkins and gave up a double to David Justice. The decsion was made to intentionally walk Tino Martinez. Bob Wells replaces Guardado and gives up a RBI single to Jorge Posada and then a grand slam to.....Glenallen Hill. A loss everyone had a hand in.

May 17, 2002: The Twins were down 8-3 but scored six runs in the sixth inning to take a 9-8 lead. The Twins ended up with 20 hits, including two by Jay Canizaro. Eddie Guardado came on in the ninth for the save, but Bernie Williams homered to force extra innings. The Twins scored three off Sterling Hitchcock in the 14th to take a 12-9 lead. But the Yankees loaded the bases off Mike Trombley in the bottom of the inning, and Jason Giambi - who had just joined the Yankees and was playing terrible - hit a walk-off grand slam to right-center.

April 8, 2003: Hideki Matsui had just signed with the Yankees, and everyone wanted to see what the Japanese slugger could do. It was the Yankees home opener, so fans were getting their first glimpse of Godzilla. Robin Ventura hit a two-run homer in the fourth to give the Yankees a 3-1 lead. Joe Mays gave up singles to Nick Johnson and Jason Giambi in the fifth, and the decision was made to walk Bernie Williams to get to Matsui. Big mistake, as Matsui pounded a Mays pitch to right for a grand slam, and the Yankees went on to win 7-3.

April 21, 2003: The Yankees hammered the Twins 15-1 in this game. In the fourth inning, A walk and two singles off Rick Reed loaded the bases for Alfonso Soriano, who took Reed deep in the Dome. Raul Mondesi had hit a one-out single and was thrown out trying to steal before the inning deteriorated, or the Yanks might still be batting.

May 14, 2010: An RBI single by Joe Mauer followed by a RBI double by Justin Morneau allowed the Twins to tie the game at 4-4 in the seventh. Scott Baker gives up a single and a double in the bottom of the inning. Brian Duensing gets a fly out, then Ron Gardenhire decided to walk Mark Teixeira intentionally and have Matt Guerrier face A-Rod. Big mistake, as Rodriguez walloped a grand slam to left field. That was the year everyone walked Teixeira to get to A-Rod, and A-Rod made them pay.

Tuesday: The Twins take a 4-1 lead in the seventh, two runs coming on a home run by rookie Miguel Sano. The Yankees mount a rally in the bottom of the inning against a Twins team with three key relievers overworked and unavailable. So manager Paul Molitor brings in Rule 5 rookie J.R. Graham, who serves up a 1-0 fastball that a slumping, 40-year old Rodriguez deposits over the center field fence. The Yankees go on to win 8-4 over a stunned Twins team.

Hope you didn't revisit your breakfast.
