Maya Moore just won her third consecutive WNBA Western Conference player of the week award, for games played between July 20 and Sunday, the span of games that bookended the league's All-Star Game — where Moore, of course, was named MVP. It was the 13th time Moore has won the award.
Over that stretch, in four games, Moore led the league in scoring (23.3) and was fifth in assists (3.8) and sixth in rebounds (7.3).
Moore had 25 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Connecticut July 22. Then she had 27 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a victory over Los Angeles on Wednesday. In Friday's victory over Atlanta, Moore had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, her 26th career double-double and the eighth time she has had at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the same game. Saturday, Moore scored 16 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter in a victory at Tulsa.
It was her 11th consecutive game with 20 or more points, tying Cynthia Cooper for the second-longest such streak in league history. Diana Taurasi holds the record with 13 consecutive games.
Lynx players have now won the award four times this season; Lindsay Whalen won it June 28.
