Women's World Cup: Australia vs. Japan, 3 p.m. Saturday, Fox Sports 1. Australia never has made it past the quarterfinals at a World Cup; a win against Japan, the defending champion, would be its biggest victory. Australia will have to deal with Japan's high-pressure style, though.

Women's World Cup: England vs. Canada, 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Fox Sports 1. Canada will be playing in front of a huge, partisan Vancouver crowd. Will it help players — or will the pressure get to them? England, which also never has made it past the quarterfinals, is hoping for the latter.

MLS: New York Red Bulls at New York City, 3:30 p.m. Sunday, ESPN2. The first edition of the Red Bulls-NYC rivalry was everything the league hoped for when it put a second franchise in the NY area. NYC started terribly but has won three straight, while the Red Bulls briefly topped the league but have lost four of five.

MLS: Seattle at Portland, 6 p.m. Sunday, Fox Sports 1. This is not only the best rivalry in MLS, but the first meeting between the two teams since their U.S. Open Cup game ended in chaos. The aftermath saw Seattle miss both Obafemi Martins (groin injury) and Clint Dempsey (suspension) for its next two games.
