Eddie Rosario makes his first start as a Twin tonight as they try to beat Scott Kazmir, who is 5-0 with a 2.68 ERA in his last seven starts against the Twins.

Rosario later hit the first pitch he saw as a major leaguer over the left-center field fence for a solo home run.

Lefthanded hitters (.200) are doing slightly better than righthanded hitters (.169) against Kazmir.

Doug Bernier is here, and was checking out the infield earlier this afternoon. The longtime minor league infielder was called up when Eduardo Nunez landed on the disabled list.

Bernier, 34, was called up in September of last season, playing in seven games. He appeared in 33 games in 2013, during which he got his first major league hit.

Former Twins manager Ron Gardenhire once said that Bernier was good enough to be a utility player in the majors, but he's never gotten that shot and, at his age, he seems to be running out of time.

At 10-5, the Twins are tied with Kansas City for the most home wins in the AL.....Danny Santana is batting .353 during the homestand, Brian Dozier is batting .333 and Torii Hunter .314.

A familiar face in back in the A's lineup, as Coco Crisp has been activated from the disabled list. He is batting leadoff tonight.

The teams might have to be amphibious to finish this series, as rain is in the forecast tonight and tomorrow.
