Gophers football isn't just for breakfast anymore.

Last year, Minnesota had six consecutive 11 a.m., kickoffs. But this fall, the Gophers are expected to play at least four prime time games.

Big Ten Network announced last week that it will televise the Gophers and Iowa in prime time on Nov. 14. And according to people familiar with the schedule, the Gophers are expecting to get three prime time games on either ESPN or ABC when those assignments are announced Thursday.

The three other games would be the Sept. 3 opener against TCU at TCF Bank Stadium, the Oct. 31 game vs. Michigan and the Nov. 7 game at Ohio State.

The Gophers had just one prime time game last season — the season opener against Eastern Illinois, which was on a Thursday. But Minnesota delivered its second consecutive 8-5 season and won five Big Ten games for the first time since 2003.
