The Minnesota Vikings and the authority behind construction of the football team's new home are offering fans the opportunity to cement their support for the team, as many sports franchises have done in recent years.

The Legacy Bricks program is selling various-sized personalized pavers for a few hundred dollars that will be placed on the 3-acre plaza near the giant pivoting glass doors of the stadium, which is scheduled to open in time for the 2016 season.

Three paver styles are available for purchase starting Thursday:

• 4 by 8 inches, $160, with up to three lines of text.

• 8 by 8 inches, $295, with up to six lines of text.

• 8 by 8 inches, $360, with the Vikings Norseman logo and up to four lines of text.

Net proceeds from the program will help with maintaining the plaza.

The bricks will be made by the Cold Spring Granite Co. with stone quarried in Minnesota.

To buy a personalized brick or learn more about the program, visit www.vikings.com/bricks or call 1-844-662-7425.

The Vikings join the list of many franchises and schools using similar programs as a fundraising tool.
