Greetings! A couple of thoughts before we start the day.

One area of concern has to be the bullpen. Twins manager Paul Molitor sounded a little disappointed that his team nearly blew a 10-1 lead on Tuesday in Sarasota before Blaine Boyer came in and settled things down.

It's going to be interesting to see how the bullpen breaks down for Opening Day. If camp ended today, the bullpen could look like this:

Glen Perkins

Casey Fien
Brian Duensing

Blaine Boyer
J.R. Graham
Mark Hamburger
Tim Stauffer

Caleb Thielbar and Michael Tonkin have time to rally, but neither pitcher has looked very effective so far this spring. Tonkin's velocity would be a big asset, while Thielbar has to start dominating lefthanded hitters like he can.

Mike Pelfrey is pitching at jetBlue Park against the Red Sox. It's a big start for him as he tries to win a spot in the rotation. At pitching coach Neil Allen's suggestion, Pelfrey has throwing a split-fingered changeup more and is having some success with it.

We have a bunch of extra players today. Dallas Gallant, D.J. Johnson, Kyle Knudson, Nate Hanson and Mike Kvasnicka are headed to jetBlue. Back at home, Cole Johnson, Wil Ledesma, Carlos Pulido. Niko Goodrum and Wilkin Ramirez are over from the minors.
