One day after being named the media's choice for Big Ten Player of the Year, Gophers sophomore Amanda Zahui B. was named Tuesday one of 10 semifinalists for the Naismith Trophy, given to the college player of the year in women's basketball.

Zahui finished the regular season with averages of 18.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and four blocks per game. She has twice been named the espnW National Player of the Week and earned a spot on espnW's midseason All-America team, while also earning Big Ten player of the week honors four times. Zahui is 23 rebounds away from the Big Ten and Minnesota single-season record of 394 rebounds she set last season.

Four finalists for the Naismith Trophy will be announced March 20, the winner during the Women's Final Four. Lexie Brown of Maryland and Kelsey Mitchell of Ohio State are also on the semifinalists list.
