Taylor Kuehl's second goal of the game, with 3 minutes, 16 seconds to play, enabled visiting Ohio State to tie the No. 2 Gophers 3-3 on Friday night at Ridder Arena in a WCHA women's hockey game.

The Gophers (23-1-4, 16-1-3-2), whose 18-game unbeaten streak continued, won the ensuing shootout 3-1 on goals by Hannah Brandt, Milica McMillen and Dani Cameranesi for the extra point in the conference standings

Meghan Lorence scored 90 seconds into the game to give the Gophers a 1-0 lead. Ohio State (14-10-3, 9-9-3-1) tied the score at 1-all on Danielle Gagne's goal only 1:16 later.

Minnesota, which had beaten OSU 4-2 and 5-3 in a November series in Columbus, Ohio, went ahead again at 2-1 on Lee Stecklein's power-play goal at 6:50 of the opening period.

And Cara Piazza gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead in the fifth minute of the second period.

But then Kuehl, a senior forward from Minnetrista who played high school hockey for Mound Westonka, went to work. She scored her eighth goal of the season on a power-play at 12:21 of the middle period. Her tying goal was set up by Kari Schmitt's second assist of the game..

A victory for the Gophers would have clinched home ice in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.

Amanda Leveille had 25 saves for the Gophers; Stacy Danczak had 29 for the OSU.
