The Swarm, coming off a disappointing 4-14 season, led 10-7 at one point in the third quarter and still had a 10-9 lead at the end of it. But Colorado outscored the home team 11-3 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Other leading scorers for the Swarm were Crawford Callum with two goals and three assists, and Dean Hill with two goals and one assist.

Brodie MacDonald, the Swarm's new 6-7 goalkeeper, had 33 saves.

John Grant and Adam Jones led the Mammoth with four goals apiece. Grant also had five assists, Jones two. Colorado goalie Dillon Ward had 32 saves.
