Rookie cornerback Jabari Price was arrested early Monday, the morning after the team's season-ending win over the Chicago Bears, and was released from Hennepin County jail after he was booked on a misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired.

A state trooper observed Price driving above the speed limit southbound on Interstate 35W and pulled Price over. The trooper "detected impairment in the driver," according to the incident report, and administered a breathalyzer test. Price had a blood alcohol level of 0.13 percent and was arrested on suspicion of DWI at the scene.

Price was booked in Hennepin County jail at 4:41 a.m. and was released at 6:52 a.m.

He has a court appearance scheduled for Feb. 9 in Minneapolis.

"We are aware of the incident involving Jabari Price and are looking into the matter," a Vikings spokesman said in a statement. "We will withhold any further comment at this time."

Price, a Florida native who played college football at North Carolina, was a seventh-round draft pick last May. The 22-year-old played 14 games for the Vikings as a rookie. He was mostly used on special teams but also played 46 defensive snaps as a reserve. He had 10 tackles in his first season.

Price's arrest is the latest from a tumultuous 2014 in which the Vikings saw a handful of players bring negative attention to the team with off-the-field incidents.

Ex-Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson was arrested for a DWI on Jan. 1, 2014, and wide receiver Jerome Simpson was booted off the team in September after it was learned that he was cited for drunken driving in July.

Star running back Adrian Peterson pleaded no contest in November to a misdemeanor for recklessly injuring his 4-year-old in Texas in May. Peterson's legal issues led to his 2014 season ending after just one regular-season game.

And defensive tackle Tom Johnson was arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct outside a Minneapolis steakhouse on Oct. 5. He pleaded not guilty and has a hearing scheduled for March.
