The Gophers salvaged their top spot in the polls with Saturday's overtime victory. A weekend split with in-state rival St. Cloud State, however, cost the Gophers several first-place votes.

No. 2 North Dakota and No. 3 Boston College shared the remaining first-place votes. Colgate and Boston University round out the USCHO Top 5.

St. Cloud State remained at No. 7. Minnesota State drops one spot to No. 13 after a split with Bowling Green. Minnesota-Duluth climbed two spots to No. 17 after a split with No. 10 Miami. Bemidji State received votes.

Michigan dropped from the Top 20 leaving the Gophers as the Big Ten's only ranked team. The Wolverines were swept by in-state rival Michigan Tech.

Minnesota programs were 5-3-0 over the weekend. The Big Ten was 5-4-1.

The Gophers women's hockey team fell from the top spot for a second time this season after one of the worst weekend's at Ridder Arena in recent years. The Gophers rallied late to force a 2-2 tie against Bemidji State on Friday. The Beavers upset the Gophers 1-0 on Saturday.
