6:30 P.M. AT CAROLINA • WAKEMED SOCCER PARK, CARY, N.C. • nasllive.com

Preview: The game marks United's third and final chance to clinch the fall season championship. The match also is a tuneup for next week's playoffs.

United FC at a glance: United lost some steam recently, winning just one of four matches. Coach Manny Lagos rested players and tinkered with lineups. But with the team seeking momentum, expect heavy minutes from the usual starters.

"We want to go on the field and show well and make sure we're preparing the right way for the playoffs," Lagos said. "That means having a good competitive game and making sure that we manage the game the right way."

Carolina at a glance: This match is a must-win for Carolina's postseason chances. But the RailHawks' fortunes also depend on Fort Lauderdale. A Carolina victory and Strikers loss puts Carolina in the playoffs. But if the Strikers tie, Carolina must beat Minnesota by at least four goals. If either scenario happens, Carolina likely would travel to Minnesota next week for a semifinal match.
