Vikings backup defensive tackle Tom Johnson was arrested early this morning in Hennepin County and charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. Both are misdemeanor charges.

Jail records show that Johnson posted $78 for bail and was released at 10 a.m.

"We are continuing to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time," the Vikings said in a statement.

Johnson, 30, signed with the Vikings in the offseason after three seasons with the Saints. He has played all five games this season, including one start, and has made seven tackles, recorded two sacks and forced one fumble.

He is the third Vikings player to have a brush with the law in the past month. Running back Adrian Peterson was brought up on a child abuse charge in Texas last month and wide receiver Jerome Simpson was released the following week after he was cited for drug possession and two other charges after a traffic stop in Bloomington.
