Waseca's Shane Streich, ranked No. 1 in the Class 1A individual poll, won the boys' race and St. Michael-Albertville's Rachel King won the girls' race at the cross-country Eagle Invitational at Apple Valley High School.

Eden Prairie, ranked No. 7 in 2A, won the boys' team title, and Edina, ranked No. 4 in Class 2A, claimed the girls' team title.

At the Milaca Mega Meet, Class 2A, No. 6 White Bear Lake won the Class 4A boys' race over a field of 22 teams. Totino-Grace's Kevin Dado won the boys' 4A race. East Ridge, ranked No. 6 in Class 2A, won the Class 4A girls' race, to highlight the eight varsity races.

Girls' tennis

Edina, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, defeated No. 9 Minnetonka 6-1 in the finale between Lake Conference powers at the Edina Invitational at the Edina Community Center.

The Hornets downed Class 1A, No. 6 Blake 6-1 in the semifinals. The eight-team tournament featured seven of the top 10 teams in Class 2A.

Football

Chanhassen 34, Cooper 30: Senior Cole Kirchoff rushed for 165 yards on 26 carries and four touchdowns, including the winning score from 18 yards out, to lift Chanhassen to a Metro West victory. The Storm trailed 24-13 at halftime but rallied behind three rushing touchdowns in the second half. Junior running back Levonte Taylor rushed for three touchdowns for Cooper.
