Gophers quarterback Mitch Leidner hasn't moved as well in practice this week, coach Jerry Kill acknowledged Wednesday, making it sound doubtful that Leidner will play Saturday against San Jose State.
Leidner sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee Sept. 6 and then suffered a turf toe injury last Saturday at TCU.
"He's moving around, but not as well as we'd like him to right now," Kill said. "He is moving around, but I'm not going to sit here and lie to you, I never have. He's not moving around as good as he was early in the week last week."
If Leidner isn't ready, the Gophers would turn to redshirt freshman Chris Streveler. The No. 3 quarterback is Jacques Perra, a walk-on from Roseville.
Cobb is ready
After being limited in practice last week with a sprained left ankle, senior running back David Cobb was full-go Wednesday.
Cobb rushed for 220 yards against Middle Tennessee State but injured the ankle and then managed only 41 yards on 15 carries at TCU.
"He came out of the game pretty good, and he did all the stuff he needs to do treatmentwise, so I have no concerns there," Kill said. "He'll be ready to go [Saturday], and certainly I feel much more comfortable about it than I did a week ago."

• Defensive end Alex Keith has made progress with his knee injury but won't be ready to return Saturday, Kill said.
• The Gophers have played eight true freshmen this year, and Kill named four others who still could have their redshirts burned this year: offensive lineman Connor Mayes, wide receiver Melvin Holland Jr., tight end Jerry Gibson and running back Rodney Smith.
