Detroit: Victor Martinez singled to center off Twins starter Trevor May. J.D. Martinez singled to right, V. Martinez advanced to second. Nick Castellanos lined out to left. Bryan Holaday singled to center, scoring V. Martinez.

Twins: Kennys Vargas singled to left-center off Detroit starter Justin Verlander. Oswaldo Arcia lined into a double play, Vargas was out at first. Trevor Plouffe doubled to right. Kurt Suzuki singled to center, scoring Plouffe.

THIRD INNING

Detroit: Torii Hunter hit a one-out single to center. Miguel Cabrera lined out to left. V. Martinez singled to left-center, Hunter went to third. J.D. Martinez singled to left-center, scoring Hunter.

Detroit 2, Twins 1

Twins: Danny Santana singled to center off Detroit starter Justin Verlander. Brian Dozier walked, Santana advanced to second. Joe Mauer doubled to right, scoring Santana and moving Dozier to third. Kennys Vargas struck out. Oswaldo Arcia struck out. Trevor Plouffe doubled to left, scoring Dozier and Mauer.

Detroit: Ian Kinsler singled to center. Hunter singled to right, Kinsler advanced to third.

Cabrera grounded into a double play, scoring Kinsler.

Detroit: Castellanos hit a one-out single to left-center. Holaday doubled to center, Castellanos advanced to third. Eugenio Suarez singled to center, scoring Castellanos and Holaday.

Twins: Dozier doubled to left off reliever Blaine Hardy. Mauer grounded out to second, Dozier went to third. Vargas grounded out to second, scoring Dozier.
