Fish tale: Minnesota style has her ready to try again

Last update: August 19, 2008 - 10:07 PM

Emily Rugut, of Roseville, caught a 24-inch walleye on Hill Lake  near Hill City
(As told by boyfriend-guide Paul DeBorde)

"This was Emily's first extended fishing trip 'up north' since she moved to Minnesota in 1993.

"She hadn't fished since she was a child in Kenya, and this was her first experience fishing Minnesota-style.

"We were trolling for walleyes when she said, 'I think I have one.'

"I coached her on how to bring the fish in.

"It measured 24 inches.

"We took the photos and, being a true sportswoman, she released it.

"I am very proud of her fishing abilities, and she is begging to go again very soon.''
