Lynx update: The Lynx have won six consecutive games and eight of nine. With Seimone Augustus back in the lineup Friday — and with the starting five healthy and intact for the first time this season — the Lynx beat San Antonio at Target Center. And while coach Cheryl Reeve was happy with the offensive execution – all five starters scored between 10 and 17 points and had multiple assists — she was less pleased with the defense. Improving on that end is a huge priority as the Lynx prepare for the playoffs. They came back from a 16-point deficit to beat the Sun in overtime at Target Center on May 17, with Maya Moore scoring 33 and Lindsay Whalen scoring 10 of her 17 in OT. The Lynx have won six of eight vs. Connecticut. In her first game back Augustus had 17 points and six assists. Moore's 12 points was her lowest total in 16 games. Janel McCarville has scored in double figures in three of four games.
Sun update: The Sun is 10-15, in last place in the Eastern Conference. Still, the Sun was just one game out of a playoff spot entering Saturday's slate of games. Connecticut has lost two in a row and five of six games, with an average margin of loss of 14.4 points. The Sun is led by rookie F Chiney Ogwumike (15.4 points, 8.5 rebouinds), G Katie Doulas (13.3 points) and Alex Bentley (12.0). The Sun is without G Allison Hightower (knee) and G Danielle McCray (thumb). F Kelsey Griffin (ankle) is questionable.
