Lynx update: On Friday, for the second time in three seasons, the Lynx had a long season-opening winning streak ended in Seattle. The Seattle Storm, which lost to the Lynx in the opening round of last year's playoffs, limited the Lynx to 22 second-half points in a 65-62 victory — the first loss for the Lynx in eight games. In 2012, the Lynx opened the season with 10 consecutive victories before losing to the Storm 65-62. F Maya Moore, who was averaging 27.6 points per game, and G Seimone Augustus, who was averaging 19.9 points, were each held to 12 points in the second half Friday, when the Lynx scored a season-low 22 points.

Sparks update: The Sparks, who lost to Phoenix in the first round of the playoffs last season, are coming off a 102-88 victory over the Sky in Chicago on Friday. The Sparks, who ended a two-game losing streak, evened their record at 3-3 while setting franchise records for field goals made (43) and assists (31). F Candace Parker, who didn't start the game because of a left ankle injury, scored 17 points. Parker, averaging 21.3 points per game, entered the game six minutes into the first quarter. The Sparks won the season series from the Lynx last season 3-2, winning three games in Los Angeles.
