Boxing card to be held at casino

A six-fight night will take place Sept. 20 at at Treasure Island Resort and Casino, the first boxing event held there in six years. Featured fighters include Anthony Bonsante and Matt Vanda in separate bouts. Tickets go on sale Tuesday.

Aquatennial tennis champions crowned

Andres Osorio, Hannah Dake and the doubles team of Andy Bryan and Lauren Hom won championships on the final day of the Aquatennial Plaza Tennis Classic at One Financial Plaza in Minneapolis. The unseeded Dake upset top-seeded Amy Jamieson 6-4, 6-4 in the women's singles final. In the men's final, Osorio took out defending champion Tony Larson 6-1, 6-4 and Bryan and Hom defeated Abby Buxton and Ryan Dussault 6-2, 6-2.

The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the St. Paul Saints 12-2 on Friday at Midway Stadium.
