The Vikings waived running back Bradley Randle, guard Josh Samuda, and linebackers Terrell Manning and Simoni Lawrence to make room on their 90-man offseason roster for their new undrafted rookie free agents. None of those four played a snap for the Vikings.

The team also officially announced the signing of 15 rookie free agents, 14 previously named following the NFL draft. The addition is Missouri Western quarterback Travis Partridge.

Other rookie free agents who were signed and are set to participate in this week's rookie minicamp are wide receivers Donte Foster of Ohio, Kain Colter of Northwestern and Erik Lora of Eastern Illinois; tight end AC Leonard of Tennessee State; offensive tackles Matt Hall of Bellhaven, Pierce Burton of Mississippi and Antonio Richardson of Tennessee; center Zac Kerin of Toledo; guard Austin Wentworth of Fresno State; nose tackle Isame Faciane of Florida International; running back Dominique Williams of Wagner; and defensive ends Rakim Cox of Villanova, Jake Snyder of Virginia and Tyler Scott of Northwestern.

At training camp also will be several free agents invited on a tryout basis, including St. Cloud State running back Michael Walker and Minnesota Duluth tight end Jeremy Reierson.

Wolves rundown

Timberwolves management heads to Chicago today for the NBA's annual pre-draft combine, at which the team interview candidates for its 13th overall pick in the June draft. That is, if Phoenix doesn't defy long odds at next week's draft lottery and leap from the 14th pick into the top three, which would cost the Wolves a first-round pick they owe the Suns for the 2012 Wes Johnson trade.
