The Vikings finally took a few defensive backs in the sixth round.

After trading back twice from 148th to 168th with the Panthers, then trading that pick to the Falcons, the Vikings took Virginia Tech safety Antone Exum with the 182nd pick then Maine cornerback Kendall James with the 184th pick.

Exum played safety and cornerback in college but played just three games last year recovering from offseason ACL surgery. He earned All-ACC second team as a corner in 2012 and All-ACC honorable mention as a safety in 2011. He started 13 games and finishing with a team-high five interceptions. He had 48 tackles, 15 for loss, and made his first start at corner during the season.

James is listed at 5-10 and 180 pounds. The two-time All-CAA first team selection started 13 games last year. He had two interceptions and 36 tackles, 2.5 for loss.

The Vikings still have three seventh round picks (220th, 223rd and 225th overall).
