The Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA) has expanded its partnership with the Randy Shaver Cancer and Community Fund, officially changing the name of its annual all-star high school game to MFCA Tackle Cancer All-Star Game.

The 2014 game will be played June 28 at 1 p.m. at Husky Stadium on the campus of St. Cloud State University.

The 88 players selected for the North and the South teams are made up of seniors who have not made Division I college commitments.

The west metro will be well represented, with 16 players divided between North and South teams.

The west players on the North squad are Benilde-St. Margaret's QB Keaton Stensrud; Osseo receiver Connor Kittleson; Fridley defensive end Samuel Musa; Maple Grove defensive back Jake Engelken and offensive lineman Kam Garlick; Rogers linebacker Nate Weber; Mound Westonka defensive back Bryan Tierney; St. Michael-Albertville offensive lineman Cody Fox; Minneapolis Henry offensive lineman Isaac Thomsen; and Delano defensive tackle Christian Triplett.

West metro players on the South team are Minnetonka quarterback Nick Rooney; Eden Prairie running back Anthony Anderson; DeLaSalle defensive back Alex Hempe; Chanhassen offensive lineman Grant Aplin; Minneapolis Washburn defensive end Clayton Burton; and Chaska receiver Calvin Buesgens.

The North team will be coached by Chisago Lakes' Bill Weiss while the South will be coached by Eden Prairie's Mike Grant.

Baseball all-star selections

The Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches Association will hold its 40th annual Baseball All-Star Series on June 20 and 21 at Chaska Athletic Park.

The 80 senior players on the four teams — South, North, Metro East and Metro West — will be selected by coaches on May 19 at Target Field.
