Jaguars look to get even

Bloomington Jefferson, one of the state's most storied high school hockey programs, has not been to the tournament since 2005, their only trip under current coach Jeff Lindquist.

The Jaguars have a chance to return when they play Edina for the Class 2A, Section 2 title Wednesday night at Mariucci Arena. Jefferson, the No. 3 seed in the section, upset Burnsville 3-1 in the semifinals while top-seeded Edina routed Prior Lake 8-2.

Forward Johnny Panvica and goalie Grant Martens are now healthy, and Jefferson has extra motivation in the final. Edina has ended the Jaguars' season in four of the past five years.

Worth noting

• Wayzata senior gymnast Hannah Roth vowed before the Class 2A individual meet that she would set a personal best by scoring 38.0 or higher in the all-around.

Roth posted a 38.05, good enough for sixth place. Trojans teammate Brenna Ruegg finished second in the vault with a score of 9.75.

• Minneapolis Washburn senior forward Chase Coley has been invited to play in the SchollyMe All-World Girls' Basketball All-Star Game at Concordia College in Irvine, Calif., on April 19.
