Rodney Smith, a running back from Jonesboro (Ga.) Mundy High School, committed to the Gophers on Thursday night, becoming their 14th commitment for next season.

The 5-11, 195-pound Smith is a three-star recruit in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He rushed for 2,201 yards last fall. He reportedly narrowed his choices to the Gophers and Eastern Carolina University.

Smith announced his decision on Twitter (@Numerouno1_).

The Gophers are still waiting on Minneapolis Washburn running back Jeff Jones' decision. He cancelled his official visit to Florida for this weekend, according to GopherIllustrated.com.
