There isn't anything bogus about the Anderson's youngest two children, Tommy or Sally. The brother-sister combination are two of the state's elite high school alpine skiers.

The siblings, who are members of the Eagan/Eastview cooperative program during the regular season before the two schools go their separate ways come section time, appear headed for even greater results in 2014. They both finished in the Top 10 in the state meet a year ago for Eagan at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.

"They are a lot alike," Eagan/Eastview coach Bob Boldus said. "They are dedicated, loyal and compassionate about skiing."

The tandem is following in the tracks groomed by their older sister, Becky. She is a third-grade teacher in Idaho and a ski coach at Bogus Basin in Boise.

"I think they both wanted to copy her," said their mother, Sue. "She is the one who got it all started."

Sally is in her final year of high school while Tommy is a sophomore. They started skiing when they were 4 and 2, respectively. Four years later, they were racing competitively.

"They even shared the same skis the first year," Sue said.

Sally has advanced to the state meet each of the previous three seasons. She finished ninth a year ago with a combined time of 1 minute, 19.29 seconds for her two runs.

"I definitely want to go back to the state meet one more time," Sally said. "It would be ideal if our whole team could get there. That would be a lot of fun."

Tommy finished fifth in his second state meet appearance last year. He clocked in at 1:15.51.

"I like high school racing," Tommy said. "I get to compete against a lot of people I don't race against nationally."

Both Tommy and Sally are also members of the Buck Hill racing team. Between the two teams they usually race two to four times a week.

"The big difference in high school is you have the team atmosphere," Tommy said. "I really enjoy that aspect."

Otherwise, the two are going all out to post the fastest individual time.

"There isn't a lot I had to do with them," Boldus said. "I can't take credit for them."

The duo also excels at communicating, helping each other out when needed. With that being said, they each have a trait the other would like to have as a part of their package.

"Sally is so solid," Tommy said. "She never gets in a lot of trouble on her runs."

And, as far as her brother is concerned?

"Tommy is such a hard worker," Sally said. "I admire him. He has set some really high goals that he would like to accomplish."

One of which is to be the medalist at the state meet. A goal both Tommy and Sally could accomplish in February.

"That would be something," Boldus said. "It's a possibility. They just have to click at the same time, same day. It could happen."
