The Gophers women's hockey team had beaten Ohio State 29 games in a row, but that streak ended Saturday at Ridder Arena.

The Buckeyes, after losing three games by a combined score of 20-3 to Minnesota this season, tied the No. 1-rated Gophers 2-2 after a scoreless overtime. That meant each team received one point in the WCHA standings and the game went to a shootout to decide which team would get a second point.

After 17 players had failed to score, Kendall Curtis' goal in the ninth round gave Ohio State a 1-0 shootout win.

Ohio State (7-12-3, 2-11-3-1) led 1-0 going into the third period on Julia McKinnon's goal in the second period.

Baylee Gillanders scored at 1:47 of the third on a power play and Rachel Ramsey at 11:05 to put the Gophers (20-1-1, 14-1-1) ahead 2-1. But Ohio State tied the score on Ally Tarr's goal with 1:41 left.
