Strange as it might seem, the senior point guard battled mixed feelings as he drained three-pointer after three-pointer in the second half of the Panthers’ 81-69 victory over St. Michael-Albertville.

On one hand, Robinson simply couldn’t miss, tying a school record with nine treys while scoring 33 of his game-high 42 points after halftime.

On the other, as an avowed team-first player, he worried about what his teammates might think as he continued to shoot.

“That’s exactly what went through my mind,” he said. “I’ve been raised to think of the team first. But it wasn’t just me. I had the hot hand but the rest of the team was really playing well and moving the ball. I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Robinson’s big game capped a stellar week in which he led the Panthers to three victories. He scored 87 points, including a three-point play with seven seconds left in a 61-59 victory over Totino-Grace.

“It was a fun week,” said Robinson, whose initials stand for Tavaris Charles. “It makes it easy to enjoy the Christmas break.”

MADISON DEAN Jordan • basketball

The Jaguars have won four games in a row behind the talented senior guard. Dean, who has committed to Drake University, scored 32 points in a 68-46 rout of Mayer Lutheran and 36 points in a 62-53 victory over Tri-City United.

TYLER EISCHENS • Anoka • wrestling

The eighth-grader became the youngest wrestler in Anoka history to win an individual title at the Minnesota Christmas tournament when he won the 106-pound weight class Saturday. He defeated top-seeded Jared Franek of West Fargo in the semifinals and Apple Valley’s Kyle Rathman in the final.

DANIELLE JORGENSON • Orono • basketball

The sophomore guard, who goes by the nickname “Dolly”, shot 60 percent from the floor (15-for-25) in a pair of victories. She had 16 points in a 78-43 rout of Mound Westonka and 23 points in an 86-72 victory over previously undefeated Chisago Lakes.

LOGAN KNIP • Totino-Grace • hockey

The junior goaltender, who has played every minute in goal for the Eagles this season, stopped 75 of 76 shots she faced in victories over Minnehaha (3-0), Minneapolis (2-1 in overtime) and St. Louis Park (3-0).

KEVIN McPHERSON • Tartan • swimming

The junior is off to a strong start. In a dual-meet last Tuesday against Simley, he set a Classic Suburban Conference record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.86. Later in the meet, he broke his own school record in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:01.87.
