– Trailing 14-0 after 82 seconds, 31-0 after one quarter and 48-20 at halftime, Wesley College nearly pulled off an improbable victory Saturday, losing to NCAA Division III giant Mount Union 62-59 in the national quarterfinals.

Wesley quarterback Joe Callahan set a Division III playoff record with eight TD passes, and his 633 passing yards were a school record and the fourth-highest total in Division III history. Steve Koudossou caught 11 passes for a school-record 273 yards and had two touchdowns.

Mount Union improved to 13-0. Wesley finished the season 10-3.
