Big Ten football: The week ahead

  • Updated: November 2, 2013 - 7:42 PM

The week ahead

Nebraska at No. 23 Michigan

2:30 p.m., Ch. 5/ESPN

• The Cornhuskers saved their season with the Hail Mary against Northwestern. Now they’ll try to finish off the Wolverines.

Brigham Young at No. 22 Wisconsin

2:30 p.m. Ch. 5/ESPN

• The Badgers shouldn’t sleep on the 6-2 Cougars, who rushed for 550 yards against Texas and owns victories over Boise State and Houston.

Penn State at Gophers

11 a.m. Saturday, ESPN2

• The Gophers have won three in a row after pulling off a “Reverse Mason’’ — avoiding a colossal fourth-quarter collapse when the opponent instead finds a gut-wrenching way to lose. Another thing in Minnesota’s favor: The Nittany Lions have been outscored 107-38 in two road games.

Saturday’s other games

• Iowa at Purdue, 11 a.m., BTN

• Illinois at Indiana, 2:30 p.m., BTN

• Michigan State, Northwestern and Ohio State are idle
