Preview: Though highly unlikely, Saturday’s match could mean something to the Fall Season championship race. Both Minnesota and Carolina can still mathematically qualify for the North American Soccer League Soccer Bowl provided they win their remaining matches, first-place New York falters and Spring Season champion Atlanta captures the Fall title.

United FC at a glance: Minnesota lost 3-1 at Atlanta last week, reducing its Soccer Bowl chances to almost nil. “These next two home games are massive for us to show our fans that we are moving in the right direction,” United coach Manny Lagos said. “There has been a lot of great positive energy and, unfortunately, we haven’t quite gotten all of that onto the field for the results. But this weekend is a step to continue to try and get better and move forward.”

Carolina at a glance: October has not been kind to Carolina, which dropped decisions to FC Edmonton and New York. The RailHawks went scoreless in a 4-0 loss against New York, the first time they have been shut out since August. The RailHawks defeated Minnesota twice this season and tied once.
