For the third time this season, Lynx forward Maya Moore was named the WNBA's Western Conference player of the week for the final week of the regular season.

Moore averaged 19.7 points in three games last week. Two of those were Lynx victories, including a victory over Seattle that ensured home field throughout the Western Conference playoffs and a victory over Chicago Saturday that gave the Lynx the WNBA's top playoff seed.

Moore had 20 points and five steals in the victory over Seattle. She had 17 points in a loss in Los Angeles, but finished the regular season with 22 points, 11 rebounds and a season-high six assists in the victory over Chicago.

Moore, who also won player of the month honors for August, has emerged as a leading candidate for the league's MVP award..

Point guard Lindsay Whalen, an MVP candidate herself, was among the other players nominated for the player of the week award.
