Things happen really quickly in highly touted prospects' recruitments this time of year. Lists are shrinking, lists are changing, recruits are committing, recruits are de-committing.

So what is going on with 2014 five-star Gophers target Isaiah Whitehead could be far from settled, but in any case, it's certainly getting more interesting.

On Friday, the 6-4 shooting guard gave the following list to SNYtv:

Syracuse, Arizona, UCLA, Minnesota, and then tossed in "Miami" in at the end.

Miami, of course, is where Ja'Quan Newton committed earlier this week. There has been talk that he and Whitehead would be a "package deal" at whichever school was lucky enough to snatch them up. Is that serious? Whitehead has said it is, but then Newton's committment was so abrupt and unexpected, it's hard to believe that was in the original plans anyway.

However, it wasn't entirely clear in the SNY interview that the New York native was giving a complete narrowed list to the reporter -- Whitehead also mentioned "there's a lot" of schools he is interested in. One could draw that the five he mentioned are his "real" short list, since those are the ones that immediately came to mind (even though he needed a question about his buddy Newton, the other half of the potential package deal to remember Miami).

Later that night, Whitehead received an offer from Indiana -- which has the weight to ultimately change things.

What will he do? Right now, who knows. But we all will soon -- Whitehead has said he plans to make his final decision before the school year starts.
