The Minnesota Swarm advanced to the National Lacrosse League division finals for the second year in a row, knocking off the Toronto Rock 20-12 on Sunday in Toronto.
The Swarm will play on the road against the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday for the East Division title.
Ryan Benesch posted a game-high nine points for the Swarm, his highest total since the 2011 season.
U men second in golf
The Gophers men's golf team finished second as a team and had the No. 2 individual scorer at the Big Ten men's golf tournament in French Lick, Ind. The Gophers' Erik van Rooyen tied for second with a 72 Sunday for a 1-over total of 289. Illinois won the team title at 11-over 1,163, nine shots better than the Gophers. Illinois' Thomas Pieters was the top individual, finishing with a 74 for a 4-under total of 284 over four rounds.
• The Gophers finished eighth in the Big Ten women's golf tournament in French Lick with a 57-over total of 921. Northwestern and Purdue tied for first at 20 over.

• Michael Handel went 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in a run, helping the Gophers baseball team beat Iowa in Iowa City and sweep the weekend series.
• Ohio State got to starting pitcher Nikki Anderson for nine runs on 11 hits in three innings and took a 14-6 softball victory over the Gophers in Columbus, Ohio.
