Oswaldo Arcia has arrived in the Twin Cities and will wear uniform No. 31 when the Twins take on the Angels tonight at Target Field. Arcia was batting .414 with three home runs for Class AAA Rochester before being called up to replace Wilkin Ramirez, who is away on paternity leave.

Today is Jackie Robinson Day across the league, as all players will wear uniform No. 42 in honor of Robinson. There will be special video presentation before the game. The Twins are also celebrating Diversity Day, with a performance and video presentation as well.

There is only one player in the league who wears No. 42 all season, and that is Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, Rivera was one of 13 players wearing the number when MLB retired it in 1997 and was allowed to keep wearing it. Twins pitching coach Dick Such was wearing the number when it was retired across the league and switched to No. 44 after that. The Twins signed two free agents who were part of the 13 - Butch Huskey in 2000 and Mike Jackson in 2002.

Rivera is retiring at the end of the season, and the number will never be worn on a consistent basis again.

It's 37 degrees as of this writing. It's supposed to be 39 by game time with temps dropping to 36 by 11 p.m. Rain is in the forecast for Wednesday, and there is concern about getting that game in.

Will check in later with lineups.

UPDATES

Josh Willingham was scheduled to start in left with Arcia as the desginated hitter on Monday but Hammer came to the park sick. Ryan Doumit will be the DH tonight with Arcia in left..

Oswaldo Arcia is here, and Gardy had a classic comment about his offensive abilites: ``He's on a mission with a bat in his hand," Gardy said, ``and he doesn't believe anyone can get him out." Arcia played left and center field during winter ball, so he should be fine in left up here.

Darin Mastroianni gets the start today as the struggling Aaron Hicks gets the night off.
