The No. 14 Gophers' gymnastics team (16-3, 6-1) finished one of its best seasons ever Saturday night by defeating No. 20 Ohio State 197.225-195.050 to tie Michigan for the Big Ten regular-season championship. That winning point total was their second-highest ever.

Freshman Lindsay Mable won the all-around with a score of 39.525, which ties her career best. She also won in vault and floor exercise with identical scores of 9.950. Her vault score was the program's third highest ever.

The Gophers also won the other two events. Cierra Tomson was first in uneven parallel bars with a 9.900 score and Hannah Nordquist and Shannon Golich tied on the balance beam with 9.900 scores, too.

The conference meet will be held Saturday at Michigan State.

The Gophers (15-9) took a 1-0 lead on Richardson's homer — her fifth of the season — in the first inning and scored two more runs in the second on catcher Kari Dorle's two-run single with the bases loaded. Wenner hit a two-out home run in the fourth.
