CLASS 2A, SECTION 2 CHAMPIONSHIP• EDEN PRAIRIE 3, EDINA 1: Charly Dahlquist had a goal and two assists, Angie Heppelmann and Kate Rydland also scored and the Eagles beat the Hornets to take the section title Friday and earn a berth in next weekend's girls' hockey state tournament. McKenzie Johnson had 30 saves in the victory for Eden Prairie. Taylor Williamson scored the Hornets' goal. CLASS 2A, SECTION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP• SOUTH ST. PAUL 2, TOTINO-GRACE 1 (2OT): Brigette Miller's goal at 16:08 of the second overtime sent the Packers past the Eagles. Nikki Karg scored a first-period goal for the Packers, but the Eagles tied the score on a goal by Allison Parnell at 16:39 of the third period. Totino-Grace's Logan Knip saved 52 shots in the loss, tending the goal for 75:08 in the process. CLASS 2A, SECTION 4 CHAMPIONSHIP• HILL-MURRAY 3, ROSEVILLE 1: All the scoring took place in the third period, as the Pioneers got single goals from Kenzie Prater, Jessica Bonfe, and Sarah Bobrowski as well as 24 saves from Alexys Woodward in a victory over the Raiders. CLASS 2A, SECTION 8 CHAMPIONSHIP• NORTH WRIGHT COUNTY 4, MOORHEAD 0: North Wright County goalie Alex LaMere is riding the hottest of streaks. She recorded her third consecutive shutout of the postseason, leading the Riverhawks past the Spuds. North Wright County (23-4-1), a cooperative of St. Michael-Albertville, Monticello and Annandale, will be making its second state tournament appearance in the past three years.
